My name is Norb.
I AM a Fuel Injected Norbie. We have been a band for about four years now. This
last embodiment has been around since the summer of 2004. The band started out
with other individuals who are no longer part of the band but a very important
part of the metamorphosis. The Original line up were Ed Gomez on Drums, and
vocals. Vic Rosales on Bass Guitar. Norb Gomez on rhythm guitar (they wouldn't
let me sing back then). The great Joe Ramirez on lead guitar. And, the always
prexent Eric Brown on vocals. We had been practicing at my house and playing at
private parties and local community functions for free as the Killer
Chihuahua's. And, as in all garage bands, the elements come and go. Others that
have participated and helped us since the original band are Dan Cabrera,
Blackfoot, Rusty, Zak Sanchez, Jason, Denver, Erica Womeldorf Coggins, Leslie
Wood, and finally, Pablo Gutierrez.
Pablo is one of the main reasons for our break into the
industry. He knows Crisanto Ramirez at Texano Saloon and secured us an opening
spot for the Toadies in February of 2001. The band at the time did not like the
Killer Chihuahua moniker so we had to change it. So, we brainstormed and before
we left that evening before the Toadies show, Victor had named the band,... The
Fuel Injected Norbies. Two months later we hooked up and toured for Louie J. Gavrel
Productions opening for The Outfield. We hooked up with some very fine people in
the Music business, namely, Bill Fraser, and J. J. Gracia. Both of whom had been
pretty much Louie's right hand men. After that, like the saying goes, the rest
is really the fruits of our labour, but wait it gets better...
